On Monday Night, the Buffalo Sabres headed to Canada to face the Vancouver Canucks. Ryan Miller, once the face of the Buffalo Sabres at goalie in the post-Dominek Hasek era faced his former team as the Canucks welcomed Buffalo to British Columbia.
Brian Gionta scored on Miller right away to give Buffalo a 1-0 lead. After that, Miller got his act together. Ryan Miller did not allow a goal from that point forward in the first two periods.
Radim Vrbata scored 2 goals to make it a 2-1 Canucks lead after 1 period. A wrist shot by Brandon Prust put Vancouver up 3-1. Henrik Sedin one of the Sedin brothers scored on the power play. Daniel Sedin had 2 assists int his game and did a great job assisting at left wing.
Buffalo won the face-offs, had just as many hits, as Vancouver, blocked more shots, and had more turnovers and they still lost. They did give up 5 penalties in the first two periods and did well holding Vancouver to 1/5. The Sabres could not do anything with the power play.
Miller was 20/21 through 2 periods. He finished the day 32/34 in the Canucks 5-2 win over Buffalo.
