Canucks Blast Sabres in Win

On Monday Night, the Buffalo Sabres headed to Canada to face the Vancouver Canucks. Ryan Miller, once the face of the Buffalo Sabres at goalie in the post-Dominek Hasek era faced his former team as the Canucks welcomed Buffalo to British Columbia.

Brian Gionta scored on Miller right away to give Buffalo a 1-0 lead. After that, Miller got his act together. Ryan Miller did not allow a goal from that point forward in the first two periods.

Radim Vrbata scored 2 goals to make it a 2-1 Canucks lead after 1 period. A wrist shot by Brandon Prust put Vancouver up 3-1. Henrik Sedin one of the Sedin brothers scored on the power play. Daniel Sedin had 2 assists int his game and did a great job assisting at left wing.

Buffalo won the face-offs, had just as many hits, as Vancouver, blocked more shots, and had more turnovers and they still lost. They did give up 5 penalties in the first two periods and did well holding Vancouver to 1/5. The Sabres could not do anything with the power play.

Miller was 20/21 through 2 periods. He finished the day 32/34 in the Canucks 5-2 win over Buffalo.
