Winter Classic Blowout

Montreal went to New England to face the Boston Bruins at Gillette Stadium for the Winter Classic. The Bruins hosted the Flyers at Fenway Park where the Red Sox play back in 2010 and won that game 2-1.

Things were different in Gillette Stadium with Montreal's 5-1 win. The Canadiens accomplished this without goalie Carey Price. Defenseman P.K. Subban was terrific in this game.

Montreal was able to make a statement and take a 3-0 lead after two periods before Boston scored its first goal of the game. Montreal won 5-1.

This statement win by the Canadiens was clearly impressive. The winner of this game needs to keep up with the Florida Panthers. Montreal showed people that Boston is inconsistent and overrated. The Bruins are nothing but a one and done playoff team.

It looks like it will come down to Florida Panthers with their 7 game winning streak, Montreal, and the Washington Capitals in the Eastern Conference. As a Maple Leafs fan that lives in Boston, I cannot stand Montreal. The one positive about Montreal is their players are mature and do great charity work.

Max Pacioretty had a goal and assist in Montreal's 5-1 win over Boston. Tuukka Rask was absolutely terrible behind the pipes for Boston today on New Years today. What's even worse is how the Bruins goalie blamed the rest of the team for the loss rather than taking accountability for his crappy performance.

NBC replaced one of the bands with a winning contestant on The Voice, which is one of NBC's hit TV shows. Despite this, we had to deal with Montreal winning, annoying bands during the intermissions, and Pierre McGuire and his stupid bald face. For those who don't know McGuire you have been blessed, but that's another rant for another day. NBC did everything in their power to ruin this game and would have succeeded if Rob Gronkowski hadn't showed up in a Bruins jersey. Gronkowski even took the time to let a scumbag like Pierre McGuire interview him which just validates how awesome Gronkowski is.

Montreal improved from 45 points to 47 points to jump Florida for the top spot in their division. Boston lost and remains in third place with 44 points. Both teams would make the playoffs at this point.
